Overview

Onam, the most anticipated festival of Kerala, is its harvest festival. People make beautiful intricate designs using flowers at the entrance to their houses. Women adorned in their traditional saris known as "veshti mundu" perform Thiruvathirakali, a traditional dance.  A popular nine-course feast known as Sadya is eaten at lunch. The grand Aranmula snake boat race, or Vallamkali, is held on the sacred river Pamba. (The snake boat is named for its shape.) We invite you to join us for Onam celebrations including the Vallamkalli.

Cochin is the commercial capital of the Southern Indian State of Kerala, is sometimes referred to as the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea'. Cochin proudly boasts a rich cultural heritage but is one of the most fast-paced and modern cities in India.

Day 1 - Arrival to Cochin
Our representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After freshening up in your hotel room, visit a local family, learn about Onam and Kerala traditions, enjoy special Onam sadya (a variety of dishes traditionally served on a banana leaf) with them.

Day 2 - Fort Kochi sightseeing

Morning create a flower-art in front of a local family house, then visit a temple. Afternoon watch a traditional Thiruvathirakali dance performance. At the entrance of Kochi harbor, see the Chinese fishing nets.

Munnar is breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's own country, Kerala. The rolling hills around Munnar, South India's largest tea-growing region, are carpeted in emerald-green tea plantations, contoured, clipped and sculpted like ornamental hedges.


Day 3 - Travel to Munnar

After breakfast leave for Munnar, enjoying the scenic beauty & the marvelous waterfalls, high mountains with the low flying clouds passing by.

Day 4 - Tea gardens and Spice plantations
Do Yoga and meditation in the hotel, then explore a nearby village. Participate in cooking class, and after lunch explore the sprawling tea plantations, pristine valleys and mountains, exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests, and enjoy the aroma of spice scented cool air. In the afternoon enjoy boating on the Lake (optional).

Day 5 - Travel to Kumarakom
After a leisurely breakfast, travel to Kumarakom. Relax in hotel garden or enjoy Ayurvedic treatments.​

Day 6 - Houseboat day cruise on backwaters
After breakfast board your private houseboat and relax while exploring backwaters sheltered by coconut palms, and taste traditional Kerala dishes on board.

Day 7 - Day trip to Aranmula, snake-boat race

Travel by road to Aranmula and watch the annual Aranmula Vallamkalli boat race on the holy river Pampa. This boat race happens every year on the last day of Onam.
