Itinerary

Cochin is the commercial capital of the Southern Indian State of Kerala, is sometimes referred to as the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea'. Cochin proudly boasts a rich cultural heritage but is one of the most fast-paced and modern cities in India.

Day 1 - Arrival to Cochin
Our representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After freshening up watch a traditional Kathakali dance performance.

Day 2 - Fort Kochi sightseeing, travel to Munnar

After breakfast explore the tropical coastal city of Fort Kochi, where you discover an intriguing mix of cultural influences. Visit one of the oldest Jewish synagogues in India, decorated with blue ceramic Chinese tiles and surrounded by an aromatic spice market. Visit Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace) and St. Francis Church, both of which were erected by the Portuguese in the 16th century. At the entrance of Kochi harbor, see the Chinese fishing nets. After lunch travel to Munnar. You can stroll around and enjoy the peace and freshness of mountain air along with its breathtaking beauty.

Munnar is breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's own country, Kerala. The rolling hills around Munnar, South India's largest tea-growing region, are carpeted in emerald-green tea plantations, contoured, clipped and sculpted like ornamental hedges.

Day 3 - Tea gardens and Spice plantations
Do Yoga and meditation in the hotel, then explore a nearby village. Participate in cooking class, and after lunch explore the sprawling tea plantations, pristine valleys and mountains, exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests, and enjoy the aroma of spice scented cool air. In the afternoon enjoy boating on the Lake (optional).

Day 4 - Munnar sightseeing
Morning proceed to Eravikulam National Park, famous for the endangered mountain goat of South India, the Nilgiri Tahr. Afternoon visit the Raja Malai, the top peak of Munnar.

Day 5 - Travel to Kumarakom
After a leisurely breakfast, travel to Kumarakom. Relax in your hotel room and enjoy a sunset cruise on backwaters.

Day 6 - Houseboat day cruise on backwaters
After breakfast board your private houseboat and relax while exploring backwaters sheltered by coconut palms, and taste traditional Kerala dishes on board.

Day 7 - Travel to Kannur

Drive to Cochin and board your flight to Kannur. Our representative will receive you at the airport in Kannur and transfers you to your hotel. After freshening up in your hotel room, visit Payambalam beach.

Day 8 - Theyyam festival

Experience different Theyyam ritual performances. Start your day with visiting village temples (Kavu) or ancestral homes (Tharavad) of Hindu families where Theyyams are performed annually.  Witness preparation of Theyyam costumes and make-up. Enjoy the ritual dance performance. Firejumping Theyyam (Kandanar Kelan) will be available at night.

Day 9 - Kannur sightseeing

Take rest in the morning, and afternoon visit St. Angelo Fort. The evening is free for your leisure.
